Filed under: College — Tags: — admin @ 1:36 pm

Anyone who wishes to pursue police officer training must have a high school diploma and no police record. Subjects in business, math and accounting are some requirements for prospective trainees. Computer literacy is also a plus. Students who have performed well in physical education classes are also very well prepared for police officer training. There will be physical exams to determine physical strength as well as tests for visual and hearing acuity. Personality exams for police applicants will determine character traits and psychological state.

Becoming a cop depends very much on the applicant’s educational background. Applicants who have had up to two years of previous military training also have an advantage. Those aspiring for police officer positions may also consider associate’s or bachelor’s degree courses in criminal justice or related fields. Subjects in psychology, state regulations and basic legal subjects are also good preparation. Accepted applicants will have to undergo police training which can take up to a year.
