Filed under: Careers — Tags: — admin @ 4:29 pm

Have you ever stared at the medical assistant sitting behind the desk at your doctor’s office and wondered: “How much does that person make?” I wonder things like that all the time. The answer to that exact question is, not much. Now, the person that comes into the exam room with you to take your blood pressure and prepare you for the doctor’s visit, they can earn a decent salary.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics indicates that the average wage is around $28,800 per year. That’s not bad for a profession that doesn’t require anything more than a high school degree. But, the truth of the matter is, the more schooling and experience you have, the more money you will make. So while the entry-level employee sitting at the front desk isn’t making more than $12/hour, the seasoned veteran in the back office, or the medical assistant mentioned earlier who visits patients in the exam room will likely make much more.

Now that you know the answer to the question: “How much does a medical assistant make?” it’s time to get started on a new career that you will love. Find a medical assistant training program near you to sign up.
